The Dirtbombs are one of the most rockin’ bands in world, and they are currently on tour. Their sound ranges from punk to R&B, their singer has one of the best voices in rock, and their bass player is a cutie.
I will see them next weekend at the Asbury Lanes in Asbury Park New Jersey, so if you were looking for an excuse to purchase me a drink, that’s where you’ll find me.
After years of writing reviews for Legends Magazine, I’ve developed a taste for Jersey City Apocalypse-rock band Flaming Fire. They’re on tour and have a new album, Kentucky Shroud, which I recommend, particularly for the song Natural Light Catastrophe, a hilarious and funky stab at slackers and Trustifarians. Here’s my reviews for Get Old and Die with Flaming Fire and Songs From the Shining Temple. They’ve also covered songs by Yes (Astral Traveler), Devo (Shout) and Cameo (Word Up)! Amazing.
Flaming Fire mix myth with passion and fire, and pour it out hot and wet onto the stage like the birth of a new, modern god. They’re a unique band to say the least.
